NORFOLK, Va. – A Chesapeake man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting on Nicholson Street is now in custody.
On November 14, around 12:50 a.m., police responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 400 block of Nicholson Street.
When police arrived, they found 29-year-old Jonathan L. Bassette of Norfolk, who had been shot multiple times. Bassette was taken to the hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Malcolm J. Jorden, has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm.
On December 8, police said Jorden was arrested in Norfolk. They thanked the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force for their assistance with the arrest.
