The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving coronavirus cases within the state.
As of Friday, there are now 49,840 cases, 871 people hospitalized and 1,197 coronavirus related deaths.
That is 1,652 new cases and 22 additional deaths from Wednesday.
A total of 712,313 people in North Carolina have now been tested.
Just last week, North Carolina saw a 5 day streak of 1,000 additional daily coronavirus cases. The state's cases continue to trend upwards.
