North Carolina reports 1,425 new coronavirus cases, bringing state total to 136,218

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving coronavirus cases within the state.

As of Sunday there are now 136,218 cases, 1,109 people hospitalized and 2,168 coronavirus related deaths.

That is 1,452 new cases, 20 fewer hospitalizations and 8 additional deaths from Saturday.

A total of 1,986,548 total coronavirus tests have been completed in North Carolina.

Locally, North Carolina saw 26 cases, with Hertford County reporting the highest number of cases at 10.

Here's the breakdown of confirmed cases in local areas:

  • Bertie County 272 cases, 5 deaths (+3 cases from Saturday)
  • Camden County 72 cases, 2 deaths (+3 cases from Saturday)
  • Chowan County 157 cases, 1 death (+2 cases from Saturday)
  • Currituck County 73 cases, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Saturday)
  • Dare County 209 cases, 2 deaths (+0 cases from Saturday)
  • Gates County 45 cases, 2 deaths (+0 cases from Saturday)
  • Hertford County 344 cases, 11 deaths (+10 cases from Saturday)
  • Northampton County 350 cases, 16 deaths (+1 case from Saturday)
  • Pasquotank County 401 cases, 20 deaths (+6 cases from Saturday)
  • Perquimans County 86 cases, 2 deaths (+1 case from Saturday)
