Man killed in late-night Chesapeake shooting, police searching for suspect

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Police responded to a report of a shooting that happened in 1400 block of Leckford Drive around 11:05 PM Wednesday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man, identified as 28-year-old Virginia Beach resident Dwane Laquan Boone, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Boone was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available at this time.
