HAMPTON, Va. - A person has died and two others have been sent to the hospital after being stabbed in Hampton probably Monday morning.
According to authorities, the stabbing took place in the first block of Winder Court. Emergency Communications received word of the incident at approximately 4:52 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was also found stabbed and was transported to a local hospital. Officials say she is in stable condition. Another man, and third victim, had to be transported to a local hospital as well and is being treated for non-life-threatening stabbing injuries.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the stabbing took place in the residence, but the motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
Officials say that all parties are cooperating with investigators as they continue to investigate.
