18-year-old shot while inside car in Hampton 7-Eleven parking lot; police searching for suspects

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police are looking for the two people responsible for shooting an 18-year-old while he was inside a car in the parking lot of a local 7-Eleven Monday night.

Around 4:54 p.m., dispatchers received a call in reference to a shooting that had just happened in the 1400 block of W. Queen Street. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, who had been hit by gunfire. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and his condition has since been upgraded to stable.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven when two male suspects entered the vehicle. One of the suspects then shot the victim, and both suspects then fled the area on foot.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation. Police have not released any further information about the suspects at this time.
