Overnight shooting in Hampton parking lot leaves man seriously injured

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is investigating after a man was shot and seriously injured early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened at 12:57 a.m. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Thomas Street, where they found a 28-year-old man who had been shot.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with what police say is potentially life-threatening injuries.

Police said that according to their investigation, the victim was outside walking through a parking lot when he was shot. The suspect or suspects then left the area.
