Overnight Suffolk shooting leaves man injured, police investigating

SUFFOLK, Va. - The Suffolk Police Department is investigating after a shooting left a man injured in the city early Saturday morning.

According to police, dispatch received a call for shots fired at 1:12 a.m., and officers responded to South 5th Street for what they believed to be gunshots in the area. A local hospital then contacted police to report a man had walked in suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they located a suspected crime scene in the 100 block of North Capital Street.
