VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach Emergency Communications got a report that someone had suffered a gunshot wound at the Econo Lodge located at 5819 Northampton Blvd., on Sunday night.
Around 10:30 p.m., police responded to the scene and found an individual who was dead inside a hotel room.
On Monday, police announced that this case is being investigated as a homicide.
The decedent is a teenage girl, therefore officials are not releasing her identity.
Police said the girl was the only occupant of the room at the time they got there.
There is no additional information available at this time as police are in the early stages of the investigation.
