VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - One person is in the hospital after they were hit by a vehicle in the 600 block of Newtown Road Wednesday evening.
Around 6:37 p.m., police responded to a serious crash involving a pedestrian road at the intersection of Newtown Road and Connie Lane.
Police say the pedestrian was trying to cross the southbound lanes of Newtown when a white 2010 Ford Sedan.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Newtown Road is currently shut down in both the northbound and southbound lanes from Daniel Smith to Baker Road.
The crash is still under investigation.
There is no further information.
