Man injured in shooting at Hampton convenience store, police investigating

HAMPTON, Va. - One person was injured in a shooting at Tom's Food Mart in the 1300 block of N. King Streetin Hampton Wednesday night.

The call came in around 5:45 p.m.

According to the Hampton Police Division, the victim, a 20-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A preliminary investigation revealed an unknown suspect shot the man while he was inside the business.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is currently no suspect information.
