PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department Major Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another critically injured.
Around 5:10 p.m., dispatchers received a call an injured male near the 3200 block of Victory Boulevard who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 16 minutes later, police were notified of another 20-year-old man at a local hospital who was seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his upper body. His injuries are said to be life-threatening.
Police believe both victims were in a vehicle when they were shot. The two drove to the 3200 block of Victory Boulevard, where the first man died and the second man was driven to a local hospital in another private vehicle.
The scene is still active, and there is no suspect information at this time.
