Police arrest Chincoteague man accused of shooting, killing father

CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Va. - A Chincoteague man was arrested Thursday morning after being accused of shooting and killing his father.

At 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Chincoteague Police received a report that a male victim had been shot on School Street. Officers arrived on scene to find 70-year-old Thomas Lee Watson Sr. dead inside the home.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the victim’s son, Thomas Lee Watson Jr., on a Second-Degree Murder charge. He is currently being held in the Eastern Shore Regional Jail without bond.

The Accomack County Sheriff's Office is assisting Chincoteague Police in the investigation.
