HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police are investigating a death after a vessel was found submerged Monday morning.
According to police, a call came in at 11:41 a.m. regarding a submerged vessel at the Customs House Marina in the 700 block of Settlers Landing Road near Hampton University.
Later Monday night, police say a 53-year-old woman was inside the vessel, which was recovered by members of the Hampton Public Safety Dive Team. Her identity will not be released until her next of kin have been notified.
Police say there are no signs of foul play at this time, and the investigation into the woman's death remains ongoing.
