Police investigate Portsmouth homicide

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Police are investigating a homicide that happened near South Street and Godwin Street on Wednesday at 11:53 p.m.

Officers responded to a report about a 60-year-old male who had a life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
