Police investigating after man shot while walking in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in identifying whoever shot a man Wednesday night.

Around 7:08 p.m., dispatchers received a call in reference to a shooting that had just happened in the 5100 block of Goldsboro Drive. Officers arrived on scene to find the 21-year-old man, who had been struck by gunfire. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are said to be non-life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man was walking in the area when he was hit by gunshots that were fired from an unknown direction.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation, and there is no suspect information at this time.

Police say the victim was not entirely cooperative with investigating officers.
