NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Police Department has ruled the deaths of a man and a woman who were found dead inside a home in the 2600 block of Colonial Avenue Thursday night as a murder-suicide.

Around 7:20 p.m. Thursday, dispatchers received a call for police to check on the well-being of the occupants of the home. Officers arrived on scene to find the victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They told News 3 that while they were just discovered by someone Thursday, it appears they died in a shooting that happened last week.

The victims, identified as 23-year-old Amarea Ware of Norfolk and 26-year-old Rexford B. Tomlinson of Norfolk, were pronounced dead on scene.

Police initially said they were investigating this incident as a homicide. After the incident was officially ruled as a murder-suicide, they said they are not looking for any suspects.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will make the final determination for the victims' manner and cause of death once the investigation is complete.
