Police investigating Virginia Beach McDonald's shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach Police responded to a shooting at a local McDonald's Sunday evening.

Police say the shooting took place around 8:49 p.m. at the restaurant located at 5833 Northampton Boulevard.

According to officials, a man shot into the restaurant from outside following a dispute with employees.

Detectives say the man was upset regarding the amount of time his food was taking. He confronted the manager inside and began to make several threats with hid gun.

The man left the McDonald's and then shot several times through the window before fleeing the scene, according to detectives.

Police say customers and employees were inside at the time of the shooting.

No injuries were reported and the suspect left the scene before police arrived, police say.

Police are still investigating.
