Police searching for man who robbed James City Co. bank

JAMES CITY Co., Va. - Police in James City County say a man robbed a local bank Thursday afternoon, and they need your help to find him.

Around 12:19 p.m., officers were called to the Atlantic Union Bank located at 5125 John Tyler Highway in reference to a robbery that had just happened.

Police say the suspect told the teller that he had a gun, but he did not show one. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the bank on foot.

No one was hurt during this incident.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin, Black male who was last seen wearing jeans, glasses and a ball cap.

Virginia State Police K9 and Newport News K9 assisted the James City County Police Department with searching the area for the man.
