PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth Catholic Regional School will be closed Friday, February 7 for cleaning and disinfecting after more than 20 cases of the flu have been confirmed, the school's principal announced on Facebook.
Principal Scott Bolton said they have been "keeping a close eye on the cases of flu in the area and in our school."
The decision was made after consulting with the school's nurse and the superintendent. All Extended Care will be closed for cleaning as well.
"This is something we take very seriously as your child's safety is paramount in all that we do," Bolton wrote. "I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."
