Portsmouth Detectives investigate armed robbery at BP gas station

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Detectives are investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at a BP gas station Saturday evening.

At 7:17 p.m., police responded to a 911 call for an armed robbery that occurred at the BP Gas Station, located at 3529 High Street.

According to police, a Black male entered the gas station with a gun, demanding an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect appears to be a teenager or young adult, police say.

Police describe the suspect wearing all black, a black mask, purple latex gloves, holding a black handgun. The suspect appears to be between 5’10 and 6’0, around 125 to 135 pounds. Police say he fled the scene on foot towards Halifax Avenue.
