Portsmouth Detectives investigate shooting that leaves one man seriously injured

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man with serious injuries Sunday morning.

According to officials, police responded to the 1200 block of Queen Street around 10:37 a.m.

Police say one man was found injured with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to officials.

Anyone who has information regarding this incident is urged to call the Portsmouth Police Department Major Crimes Unit at (757) 393-8536 or to submit an anonymous tip through the Portsmouth Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP .

Callers can also submit an anonymous tip through the Crime Line’s “P3 Tips” app or online.

If a crime line caller’s tip leads to an arrest, the recovery of drugs or stolen property they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
