Woman arrested after child seriously injured in Portsmouth hit-and-run

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Portsmouth Police have arrested a woman after a child was left seriously injured after a hit-and-run Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the hit and run took place near the 200 block of Avondale Road. The driver fled the scene and later crashed in Chesapeake.

The 5-year-old boy sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

On Monday, police announced they have taken 31-year-old Christina A. Glover into custody. She has been charged with Hit and Run Resulting in Injury and Driving While Suspended or Revoked.
