Portsmouth Police investigate armed robbery at Happy Shopper

PORTSMOUTH, Va. –Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department Major Crimes Unit are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Happy Shopper on Sunday.

At 9:30 p.m., officials received a call for an armed robbery that just occurred at the Happy Shopper, located at 3501 Portsmouth Boulevard.

According to detectives, two men entered the business, discharged their weapons, and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say no one inside the business was physically harmed during the incident.

Officers were able to acquire surveillance footage and police say the two suspects appear to be male and both were wearing black hoodies, black pants, and white gloves.

Callers can also submit an anonymous tip through the Crime Line’s “P3 Tips” app or online. As always, Crime Line tipsters are never asked to give their name or required to testify in court. If a crime line caller’s tip leads to an arrest, the recovery of drugs or stolen property they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
