Portsmouth Police searching for vehicle involved in hit-and-run that left man seriously injured

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Investigators with the Portsmouth Police Department Strategic Traffic Unit are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a man seriously injured Sunday evening.

Around 5:33 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Victory Boulevard for a report of an auto-pedestrian crash. When they arrived on scene, they found a man in the street with a serious injury to his upper body.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.

The vehicle is described as a Ford truck/SUV, and police say the vehicle lost its passenger side mirror in the aftermath of the crash.
