Portsmouth Police seek to identify suspect in Dollar General robbery

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Police are investigating a robbery that happened Monday at the Dollar General located at 2864 Airline Boulevard.

Around 7:50 p.m., Portsmouth police received a report of an armed black male robbing a local Dollar General.

The man, who appears to be about 6’1’’ and weighs 200 pounds, threatened store clerks with a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money.

According to a news release, video footage shows the suspect is wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black ski mask, black Ecko Sweatpants with a red and white design on both lower pant legs reading “Ecko” and “Unltd” with grey and white sneakers.

No other information is available at this time.
