No explosives found after investigation at Hampton apartment complex

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police said no explosives were found after an investigation at an apartment complex in Hampton Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Police located the device at the Briton Trace Apartments in the 100 block of Semple Farm Road.

No explosive devices were located. The resident, a member of the U.S. military, has been turned over to Naval Criminal Investigative Service personnel for further investigation.

Officials told News 3 two buildings were evacuated as a precaution. Residents have been cleared to return to their homes.
