CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Police were working a barricade situation Thursday afternoon.
The 500 block of Mt. Pleasant Rd. near Gile Dr. was closed while police were on scene but it has now opened.
The Chesapeake Police SWAT Team and negotiators were on scene and the situation was resolved around 1:30 p.m.
Citizens were being asked by officials to avoid the area while they attempted to resolve the situation.
Officials said the subject surrendered peacefully after several hours of negotiations.
