HAMPTON, Va. — Police have identified 46-year-old James Thompson from Newport News as the victim in a Monday morning homicide in Hampton.
Hampton police say at around 6 a.m. they received a call about a trespassing complaint in the area of West Pembroke Avenue and Parrish Avenue.
When they arrived they found a man, now identified as Thompson, lying dead near the roadway from gunshot wounds.
This is an ongoing investigation.
