Shots fired into Hampton home, killing woman

HAMPTON, Va. – Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) in connection with a homicide that happened on July 6.

Around 11:30 p.m., Public Safety Communications got a call about shots fired in the 100 block of Aspenwood Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a 56-year-old female victim who had been struck by gunfire.

She was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, police said.

The preliminary investigation revealed that shots were fired into a residence, striking the victim. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information at this time.
