JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. - The spouse of a Solider stationed at Fort Eustis died at a Newport News hospital from presumptive complications related to the novel coronavirus, according to a release by Col. Clint Ross, Installation Commander of the base.

The Soldier also previously tested positive for coronavirus, and remains in isolation while continuing to receive medical care.

"I extend my deepest condolences to the friends and family of our lost teammate," Ross said in a statement. "My thoughts also remain with those who continue to fight this invisible enemy."

The name of the deceased is being withheld to allow the family the proper time to grieve, Ross said.

Virginia now has 460 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state, and reported 13 deaths as of Thursday.
