VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia State Police and the Chesapeake Bureau of Criminal Investigations say they are currently on scene of an interstate shooting.
The incident took place around 1:27 a.m., on Thursday, on I-264 westbound, just west of Birdneck Road.
Official's preliminary investigation revealed that a male victim was traveling in a 2004 Toyota Camry, grey in color, in the westbound lanes of I-264 when he was shot at multiple times. The male driver was tranported to Norfolk Sentara Hospital with life -threatening injuries.
There is limited information on the suspect. Police say all they know is that the suspect vehicle was a dark colored sedan.
The Virginia State Police is reaching out to the community for any witnesses driving in the area of Parks Avenue and westbound I-264, prior to, or after the incident, who may have possible information.
