SUFFOLK, Va. - A building in the 8700 block of Whaleyville Boulevard collapsed after a tractor trailer ran into it Monday afternoon.

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the crash at Roger Fowler Sales & Service, Inc. just after 1 p.m.

Officials say the driver of a tractor trailer was making a delivery at that location and reportedly hit the façade of the building, causing it to collapse.

No one was hurt during this incident.

Planning & Community Development inspected the building and deemed it to be unsafe.

The one southbound lane of Whaleyville Boulevard was closed for about an hour after the crash.
