SUFFOLK, Va. - A teenager has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a local convenience store that left one man dead Saturday evening.

According to police, the shooting took place in the parking lot at the Wawa store in the 2900 block of Godwin Boulevard around 6 p.m. on December 5.

Suffolk Police responded to the location and were told that a male victim, now identified as Torico Reaves, Jr., 18, of Virginia Beach, had arrived at a local hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.

On Friday, December 11, police announced that they have arrested a 17-year-old boy and charged him with Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony in connection with Reaves' death.

Because of the suspect's age, neither his name nor photo will be released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
