Suffolk Police investigating after man injured in late-night shooting

SUFFOLK, Va. - The Suffolk Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man wounded late Wednesday night.

According to police, the call came in at 11:20 p.m. for a man, identified as 21-year-old Chesapeake resident Carleton Warren Howell, Jr., suffering from a gunshot wound at a residence in the 4600 block of Brookwood Court.

Howell received emergency medical assessment and treatment from Suffolk Fire & Rescue medics, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Suffolk Police have not released any suspect information.
