Suffolk Police investigating after man injured in late-night shooting

SUFFOLK, Va. - The Suffolk Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man injured late Wednesday night.

According to police, the call for the shooting came in at 9:15 p.m. Officers arrived at the 300 block of Briggs Street in the Hollywood neighborhood, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was given emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police have not released any suspect information or motive in this shooting.
