SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Sheriff's Office warns residents of a phone scam.
Officials say scammers are posing as Suffolk deputies and threatening victims with an arrest warrant while advising them to pay with a gift card or to turn their selves in.
Police warn residents who receive this call to never give out any information.
Officials say police will never reach out in this way and if one is ever in doubt to hang up and call their office at 757-514-7840.
