Suffolk tobacco, vape shop employee stabbed during Sunday night robbery, police investigating

SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Sunday night at a vape shop.

According to officials, the robbery occurred at 8:34 p.m., at The Tobacco and Vape Shop located in the 1000 block of University Boulevard.

It was determined that the suspect attempted to leave the store with stolen merchandise and, when confronted by an employee, stabbed the employee and fled on foot, according to the investigation.

The employee was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male in his early to mid-twenties, 5’7”, wearing a COVID-style mask, dark hoody, and blue jeans.
