SUV driver, motorcycle operator suffer serious injuries in Chesapeake crash

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chesapeake Police Officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened in the 3500 block of S. Military Highway around 5:30 a.m.

Officers said they found that an SUV, who was traveling westbound, made a left turn in front of a motorcycle, who was traveling eastbound, causing the motorcycle to crash into the side of the SUV.

Both the SUV driver and the motorcycle operator were injured. Both were taken to local hospitals with possible life threatening injuries, police said.

S. Military Highway was closed at the 3500 block in the eastbound lanes (from Bowers Hill toward Rt. 17). Around 10 a.m. it was reopened.
