Three arrested after man flown to Norfolk for serious injuries following Kill Devil Hills shooting

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. - Three people were arrested and charged after an early Tuesday morning shooting that left one man seriously injured.

According to police, officers received a call regarding a shooting at 1:45 a.m., on Elizabeth City Street.

The caller told police their friend, 18-year-old Devlin Williams, had been shot and provided a description of the vehicle being driven by the suspects.

Williams was taken to an Outer Banks hospital, but due to the seriousness of his injuries he was flown to Norfolk.

Kill Devil Hills Police issued an alert for the suspect's vehicle and a vehicle matching that description was spotted by the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office.

Currituck deputies were able to stop the vehicle and detain three people within.

20-year-old Vashon Omar James II, 19-year-old Harley Saelens, and 18-year-old Naseem James were arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Each individual was given a $35,000 secured bond, according to officials.
