Truck driver faces charges after flipping vehicle in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Officials are investigating a crash that happened Monday afternoon.

On December 28 around 12:30 p.m., Chesapeake Police Officers responded to the intersection of N. Battlefield Blvd. and I-64 for a report of a tractor trailer on its side.

Once on scene officers were able to determine the truck was traveling westbound on I-64.

The truck then took the exit ramp to get onto N. Battlefield headed northbound.

Police said the truck driver is accused of failing to maintain control of the vehicle as the truck flipped onto its side.

Speed appears to be a factor, officials said.

The truck driver was charged with "failing to maintain control of the vehicle".

The incident is currently under investigation and there were no injuries as a result of the crash.
