Two adults, five children displaced after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A family of five was forced out of their home after a fire in the 2300 block of Delwood Road Wednesday night.

Firefighters were called to the home in the Deep Creek section of the city at 7:04 p.m. after a neighbor called 911. Crews from Fire Station 9 arrived on scene three minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from the roof of the home.

The fire was called under control at 7:30 p.m.

The family - two adults and five children - were able to safely get out of the home before firefighters arrived. They are making arrangements to stay with other family in the area.

No one was hurt during this incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
