Two adults, three children displaced following fire in Deep Creek section of Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Two adults and three children were displaced on Thursday following a fire that damaged their home in the Deep Creek.

Reports say that Chesapeake firefighters were called to the fire in the 2000 block of Maywood Street at 11:43 p.m.

The first arriving crews said they found fire and smoke coming from a two-story residential structure.

Firefighters reported that they deployed hose-lines as they battled the fire while search crews checked the structure for any victims.

The structure sustained moderate fire damage and firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at 11:56 p.m., and marked the fire out at 12:17 a.m.

Reports confirmed that all occupants were able to exit the structure safely and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and lodging arrangements are being made for the family.
