Two arrested following drug bust in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Officers from the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office, Elizabeth City Police Department, and Dare County Sheriff’s Office joined forces to search a home that was suspected of housing controlled substances, located at 1500 River Rd.

According to a news release, the investigation resulted in the arrest of two men, Darryl Torrey Elliott and Rashawn Maurice Baum.

Numerous items were seized as evidence, including twelve ounces of cocaine, a loaded .357 magnum revolver, and over $16,000 in cash.

Darryl Torrey Elliott was arrested and confined at Albemarle District Jail under a $175,000 secure bond for the following charges:

  • Trafficking Sch II by Possession
  • Trafficking Sch II by Manufacture
  • Trafficking Sch II by Transportation
  • Maintaining a dwelling for storage of a controlled substance

Convicted felon, Rashawn Maurice Baum, was arrested for possession of a firearm and confined at Albemarle District Jail under a $50,000 secure bond for PWISD Sch II.
