NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police are investigating a crash that left one person dead on Sunday.
Police say the two-vehicle crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of Chesapeake Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they located three individuals who were suffering from injuries sustained during the crash.
Both drivers and one passenger were taken to a local hospital, with two being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The passenger, 59-year-old Lester V. Toliver, died after arriving at the hospital, according to police.
The driver of Mr. Toliver is currently in critical condition, police say.
Officials say, the other driver has non-life threatening injuries.
According to police investigation, the sedan that Toliver was in was crossing over Chesapeake Boulevard to continue on Middleton Place when it was struck by an SUV traveling southbound on Chesapeake Boulevard.
Investigators say that alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor.
