The University of Virginia is moving all of its classes online, and said in a statement that it will not be holding classes on campus for the foreseeable future.

According to UVA's website, classes could remain online through the end of the semester.

"We will reassess after April 5 at the earliest and periodically after that date," the school's statement read.

Students on the grounds and in Charlottesville are strongly encouraged to return home by this weekend, and students who are away on Spring Break are strongly encouraged to return home or remain home if they are already there.

University events with more than 100 people are also prohibited for the foreseeable future, and should be postponed, canceled or offered virtually.
