WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – In partnership with Sentara Healthcare, Velocity Urgent Care is now offering coronavirus testing at all of its 14 locations across Eastern and Northern Virginia.

In addition to testing for current COVID-19 symptoms, the urgent care center is also offering an antibody test to detect if a patient had a previous COVID-19 infection. According to Velocity, the process includes a medical examination of each patient’s symptoms, which may also include testing for influenza and other conditions if deemed necessary by the provider.

“Our COVID-19 tests are run on state-of-the-art equipment in a nationally accredited laboratory with results back to our patients within 1-3 days. There is no advance telemedicine consult, prescreening or doctor’s referral required,” said Alan Ayers, CEO of Velocity Urgent Care. “We strive to make this process easy for our patients and keep them informed every step of the way.”

If a patient is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or has potentially been exposed to someone who has tested positive, they must call the center first to make arrangements, which may include a curbside evaluation.

The center has also designated its Virginia Beach Red Mill, Newport News J. Clyde Morris and Port Potomac locations for drive-up COVID-19 testing. Daily drive-up testing hours vary by location.

All major insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare and VA Benefits are accepted, with no co-pay or deductible collected.
