Victim dead in overnight Hampton crash, police investigating

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is investigating after a crash left one person dead early Saturday morning.

According to police, the crash was reported at 1:31 a.m. Officers responded to West Pembroke Avenue. where they found a vehicle that struck a tree and caught fire.

The vehicle's driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead on scene.

Police said the victim lost control of the vehicle and struck two other vehicles before striking a tree. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
