VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach Police are investigating after a 34-year-old man was killed in a crash on Blackwater Road Tuesday night.
According to police, dispatch received a call for the single-vehicle crash at 8:27 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a heavily-damaged vehicle off the roadway.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Jason Patrick Mallon, was found near the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Mallon's vehicle was traveling south on Blackwater Road at a high rate of speed, causing him to lose control while traveling through a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times, ejecting Mallon and coming to rest in a field.
The case is still under investigation.
