VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The City of Virginia Beach was ranked in the top ten places to celebrate Halloween in 2020.
According to a Smart Assetreport, Virginia ranked number four out of 210 cities.
SmartAsset analyzed 210 cities across 10 metrics, which span four categories, including family friendliness, safety, weather and concentration of candy and costume shops.
Smart Asset says they included metrics like internet connection (for virtual gatherings) and recent COVID-19 infection rates to account for the different ways Americans will celebrate the holiday this year.
According to the report, the city also scored well in the safety category, ranking ninth-best.
In terms of COVID-19 cases, Virginia Beach ranks 55th.
The city also ranks 37th of 210 for its relatively large concentration of costume shops, at almost 35 per 10,000 total establishments.
